Just A Little Bit

Monday, July 25th, 2005

So little time, so much to do! Working on a redesign of one of my websites, working full time for Bell Mobility. Over 40 minutes to get to the job since it’s near place Vertu now. I’ll have to cherish thoses little moments when I can listen to some music bouncing my head carelessly typing in my blog, and perhaps be late for work ;)

By the way, I’ve seen a movie last night and was really impressed, it’s call Treed Murray (Entre l’Arbre et l’Écorce) starring David Ewlett and Kevin Duhaney. This 2001 movie makes you think of Panic Room! The character Murray is trapped by a gang and has to hide in a tree, but this movie has serious attitude, they really fight it of for 24 hours!! This movie is really serious it’s been nominated for 5 Genie Awards. It’s really a thriller because they mess with his life and he’s determined not to go down. Every line he throws at the is as powerfull and vicious as a punch in the face. The is real emotion in this “canadian” film. It sure comes in my elite movie collections. It’s a must see!

Zipping through the summer

Thursday, July 21st, 2005

I really wonder if ants work this much, 41 hours a week and plus. That’s long and I can hardly believe I’m doing this much and still find time to watch loads of DVD. I might be pushing it a bit though yesterday I slept extra hours when coming from the job. When I think about it there is only on month left before I go back to cegep for one last semester then it’s University. I really don’t know how I’m supposed to handle all this work… picture that I have two jobs and I’m going to have seven classes. Working part time is an option but that would mean less time to study… I don’t know what to do, I really like my new job and don’t want to quit it just a month after starting it’s kind of stupid. But someone has to do what’s right and I’ll have to think about it.

For you guys who read me from time to time I’ll try to bring you breaking and interesting news more often :)

Good day ? You bet!

This week has been challenging! Monday through Wednesday I worked over 11 hours! Yes that’s crazy, let’s say I wasn’t in a great mood thanks to that. Extra money but at what cost? Having two jobs is a challenging thing and I think I would settle for one only. Being a customer service agent in formation and a telemarketing agent for the news paper is not really the same. Not going in the details but you can try figuring how it is going up at 6:00 AM in the morning and getting home at 10:45 PM. You got nearly no time for yourself, and sleeping on the job is not an option.

So why is today a good day? The weather is great, I at the job right now, on the 9th day of formation. We have lots of free time between the classes and the exercises we do. I’ve been renting DVD at the libraries like crazy (Bibliothque Nationale + Local Library). I’ve spent last night watching Lord of the Rings: Return of the King Extended, not quite done :p. I’ve seen an other episode of Battlestar Galactica, and the Scifi Preview of Stargate SG-1, Atlantis and Galactica it’s a preview showing the new seasons starting TONIGHT, only on Scifi channel.

I can’t wait to see those new seasons :D , tomorrow I’m going to the beach have a relaxing day after this week. And last but not least, I got my two paychecks placed in my coop-bank account (Desjardins). Cheers!

Fantastic Four, they missed the point!

Sunday, July 10th, 2005

Fantastic 4You can’t just take the characters and stick them in a movie, you need to make a story with style! You need strong dialogue for the movie to become epic. Motivations of the evil Dr. Doom are just bent on ultimate power? You don’t feel any connection with the characters, for a movie of this level they should of made a mini-series. This way they’d have time to make a deeper story, better development.
crying
I give Fantastic Four a 5/10 because some of the comic relief made me laugh, and the visual effects weren’t that bad. The cast was great but they might of made them work better. So too bad they screwed a chance to reach the level of X-Men at most.
(And I paid only a dollar to see it, had a ticket when I bought the new I, Robot DVD. So wait for DVD, it should be fair then)

PlayStation 3 likely to be one pricey machine

Thursday, July 7th, 2005

Playstation 3Source: London Press
I’ve read before that the PS3 could be quite pricey, and that Sony is willing to loose 100$ on each system so it can be competitive and affordable. But we might still be talking a $500 Cnd! Witch is close to what the PS2 sold at first if I recall corectly…

Now hoping you know the facts surrounding the PS3, we are talking a Blu-ray DVD enabled super-computer (Because of the advanced Cell processor). The PS3 should be 32 times more powerful than the actual PS2, so you can imagine…

What shocked me are the words of Ken Kutaragi, President of Sony Computer Entertainment: “Our goal for PlayStation 3 is for consumers to think to themselves, ‘I will work more hours to buy one,’ ” Kutaragi told the Japanese magazine Toyo Keizai. “We want people to feel that they want it, irrespective of anything else.”

Now I truly wonder in what perspective we should accept that statement. Yes, they are creating a product they want to sell, they’ll try to make it attractive so we desire it. But to what extent can we decide what we really want when marketing does it’s best to create interest… I’d be glad of some comments to help me think about this issue. (French or English no problems)

Update on my life?

Wednesday, July 6th, 2005

I guess I haven’t been doing my job properly lately. I haven’t written deep posts lately, I guess I don’t have a lot of time. So here is a small update of some stuff I’ve done recently.

Well, here we go! I’ve got new speakers, it’s not much a 2.1 Logitech system but it’s so much better than my 7 year old-first computer-2 watt speakers.

I have started a formation in a second job for customer service. It’s for Bell Mobility, the training is for three weeks and the first week is 5:30PM to midnight. Let’s hope I enjoy this work, it really looks great.

Battlestar Galactica

Monday, July 4th, 2005

This show is neat, I’ve started view the pilot of the new series that aired last year on Sci-fi Channel and I think I’ll watch some more of it. Of course it’s an other scifi flick and no I haven’t seen the original 1978 series… but I’ starting to like it so here goes episode two. I’ve alson missed the mini-series I’ll try to catch up with all of it.
