Cool Christmas gift!

Friday, December 30th, 2005

Haven’t written on my blog for some time, go figure that Christmas time is the craziest time of the year. After having three partys in a row :hat: and having guests for 3 more days believe me when I say I’m exhausted! It was good seeing the whole family and even some I haven’t seen before  .
I haven’t been pressing people for gifts but I’m always happy when they think about me. A surprise is one of the best presents you can get. So when I got my Opera T-Shirt today I was in for a surprise! My name is on it! (My blog address in fact). That is so cool! I guess that’s what you get from entering Opera Mini competition :) .

I love Opera even more! It’s the best community I’ve been attached to and have no intention of leaving it. It’s not just because of the T-Shirt but because Opera has such a great line of products for any platform, I use it on Linux, Windows and my Motorola cell phone! I spread the word every time I got the chance and my friends are amazed when I show them the features of Opera.

These are not fakes, it’s the real T-Shirt I’m wearing :D

I’ll say it again : I LOVE THIS COMPANY YEAH!!

Quote from Steve’s Balmer “Developers Music Video” – I am not a Windows fan, but this video is funny, I only support Opera and Ubuntu

Happy New Year to all Opera users around the world. May this new year bring wealth to the best browser out there!

From angry snowman to Brokeback Mountain

Saturday, December 17th, 2005

My snowy day!
Let’s say I haven’t started my day on the right foot! We had our first snow storm, and it wasn’t pretty. Obviously I arrived 35 minutes late for my test even if I left home 20 minutes earlier. Trust me it was just sad to see that my first bus was stuck in snow and we had to take another one. Then, the second bus was stuck into traffic a few stops before school, nightmare… But good thing was that because of the snow they delay the test of 30 minutes so I ended up being 5 minutes late only. The reason that I’m angry is that they closed the school at noon, thus canceling my second test that was in the afternoon. I had to battle wind and snow to get to school while others can site home, warm and comfy. All of that because a few idiots started a rumor saying the school was closed, how can you believe that when it’s a final test! No they’ll be delayed up to the 23rd, which will make the Christmas vacations even smaller. But I guess that I’ll get over it real quick, even considering when 3 people called me during my test to tell me there’s no school today *how typical*, wasn’t ready for the second test anyway :irked:

Brokeback Mountain Movie Review
With the free afternoon I decided to go to the movies. Brokeback Mountain is a very special movie, it’s for mature audience; not because of some male and female body parts we see, but also because if you’re immature you’ll be shocked by it or you’ll snooze the hole 2 hours.
This story has love written all over it, but you also feel the pain and the sadness of being together and separated. You need to remain open-minded and be sure not to let yourself overwhelmed by the love affair of those two cowboys. So the story is really about an impossible love, and the regrets you can have afterwards. Some critics say it’s the film of the year, but as for many Oscar worthy movies the average person won’t be too impressed. But! The performance of Michelle Williams, the wife of one of the cowboys blew me out, after discovering her husbands secret she was in a trauma like state and was beautifully portrayed in that picture. I have to mention that all the actors made a stunning performance to bring their characters to life. Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger were perfect in every sense of the word, they are real cowboys, ruff rugged by the work and still managed to show their love towards each other (sometimes in a shocking way) in a very compassionate way that gave you shivers of realism. Bottom line, you might be sad at the end but will be content of the message that went through and how beautifully Ang Lee brought this picture to life.
I’ll give it 8/10, it was a great movie, and you shouldn’t miss it!

King Kong!

Thursday, December 15th, 2005

There is so much to say and so little time to write it all. The easiest way to understand King Kong is by seeing the movie itself, put if you need to make your mind over it please keep on reading. The story is about a lousy film maker (Jack Black) that is about to loose everything because the producers can’t seem to get anything good from him. As a desperate measure he embarks a crew and a beautiful women to find a lost island, unknown by men kind. They eventually find the place along a wild cast of indigenous people whose goal is to sacrifice Ann Darrow (Naomi Watts) to a giant beast of the jungle. The ships crew then go on a rescue mission to save Miss Darrow, little did they no they had to face a giant Gorilla, as well a giant bugs, bats, leeches and dinosaurs.
This is an epic movie, just like Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson brings you brilliant picture. You’ll be scared out of your mind, you’ll be surprised, you’ll laugh, you’ll shed a tear even. I can say I never had such a good time watching a movie before. It was plain fun, enjoying the play of the actors and of Kong himself, sometimes you felt like he reached you and he was about to speak! I don’t think you need to speak any language at all to understand the movie because all the grace, the action and the tears say it all. Though you must be able to glance at every second of this film, you’ll be transported in the beautiful world of Peter Jackson. It’s a must see for Christmas break. ;)
