My Super Ex-Girlfriend

The last romantic comedy I saw was Hitch I think… I’m not a huge fan of those and can’t dwell on the dream of perfect love (not yet). Anyway this movie was pretty fun and enjoyed watching it. It stars Uma Thurman (Kill Bill), Anna Faris (Scary Movie) and Luke Wilson.
The movie is about this guy, Matt Saunders who’s been single for a while now and decides under the pressure of a friend to make a move on a beautiful women in the subway. She is obviously not interested until a burglar snatches her bag and Matt tries to stop him. She appreciates the gesture and agrees for dinner plans. Little did he know that his date is in fact a Super Hero known as G-Girl. Her abilities are extremely similar to the ones of Superman, since she can fly, has super strength and has laser been. Somewhere down the storyline there is even a rock from outer space that can steal away her powers (wonder where they got the idea…). Anyway as the story goes on and has to give meaning to the title itself; they eventually brake up when Matt understand that he does not love Jenny but his long time co-worker Hannah. Jenny aka G-Girl is really possessive and does not like her heart to be broken. She sets on a war path to make Matt regret his move. Trust me you don’t want to be the enemy of a Super Powered women that is really jealous! To complete the mix you need a Super Evil genius ala Lex Luthor that has a vendetta against our hero. Soon you shift position and don’t think the hero is necessarily on the side of good. You get a few nice laughs and you have a smile on your face. Some key story points are strange but you can’t really take it seriously. I’ll give it a sound 8 out of 10; My Super Ex-Girlfriend is not a dumb comedy and I would love to see it many times again. It’s about finding thelove that is right for you.
