2007: Happy New Year!

Monday, January 1st, 2007

newyear_fireworks.jpgSome poetry might be in order for the new year but I don’t think you would really grab the feelings I want to share with you. Every year we celebrate a new beginning, this marking of time is shared by billions of brothers and sisters. We are one great family and we take this time to rejoice and make resolutions that we will not keep. We are still at war with our neighbors. Bitter with our friends and egoist to the need of others. For 2007 I wish you love, happiness and good health. But for all that to happen we must change; the way we see the world, the way we behave and our perception of the others. I do believe that we can all make it better. Once again; Happy New Year and make it a great year. Not only for your sake but for your friends and family.

Love to all, may God bless you all. Be safe when you celebrate and enjoy the Holidays…

Indiana Jones 4: It’s a go!

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

Harrison Ford, Indiana Jones 4I bet you didn’t see this one coming, at age sixty-four, Harrison Ford will take back his role and give us a forth Indiana Jones! The project was rumored for years, delayed, confirmed, then delayed again. Many sure did loose hope. But Lucas just said it : “It’s going to be fantastic. It’s going to be the best one yet,” reports Cinema Fusion. The movie is set for a May 2008 release and should start filming next summer. There is no way they can screw this one up but I am confident that George Lucas and Steven Spielberg can come up with a great movie that will be a major blockbuster. How large can the fan base be? I was still a kid when I saw Indiana Jones, if the trailer hooks me, they’ve got my money.

Worst: Prison or Canada

Monday, October 23rd, 2006

I could not really believe that news when I heard about it this morning. I was even more shocked when I learned the details of the story. Malcom Watson, convicted sex offender towards a 15 years old student was exhiled here, in Canada. The judge Frank Clarka gave him the choice between one year in prison or three years in Canada. It’s true that in old times being exiled was the worst of shame.

Prison CellBut when you have two countries that are highly similar in lifestyle, you send him BACK to his family; wife and three kids that were already living up there! In other words his only loss is the job as a teacher he had, but he would of lost anyway since he’s a sex offender. Is Canada considered some kind of 5th world country where this man will live miserably for the next three years? Does he leave everything behind in shame of his actions? No he doesn’t!

Considering those facts, how can you put one year of prison and three years of “freedom” in Canada side by side. I’m outraged and I hope the Immigration department looks into this and invalidates this judgment, we don’t have to take him, imaging if we did the same thing and sent out our criminals to the US. Tell me what you think about this and explain the logic behind this if you consider it to be any. I’d like to read your comments on the subject (where ever you are in the world).

iPod Nano: Remastered

Thursday, September 14th, 2006

The news is not so hot anymore but I still think I need to mention it. Last Tuesday (12/09/2006) was the day were Apple decided to bring all attention to itself by releasing a bunch of new toys. As it is a custom for the iPod line they improved the software and updated iTunes to sell movies. This makes Apple a major distributor of music, tv shows, podcasts and now movies. I remember talking about the arrival of the iPod Nano witch I found to be a great upgrade from the ridiculous iPod Shuffle.

New colorful iPod Nano

The new Nanos come in five colors; legacy of the iPod Minis and the Shuffle has been down-sized to become the worlds smallest MP3 player (1GB). Set aside that I grown to hate the concept of iTunes and iPod because of their non-replaceable batteries and their restricted format I salute their brand. I mean they always come with great ways to promote their products and Apple has raised in popularity ever since. You see how cool this picture looks? Have a look at the same add in motion Quicktime format and you’ll be blown away.

The term MP3 player is now slowly starting to be replaced by iPod by kids in my neighborhood. Anyhow, they announced better battery life, higher capacity of storage, gapless playback, brighter screen, thinner size. To sum up the event Steve Jobs introduced the upcoming iTV, code name of a box that will allow you to stream the contents of your iTunes library to your TV (HD preferably), means that the new content of the iTunes Store is not limited to your iPod and computer anymore.

Shooting in a Montreal School

Wednesday, September 13th, 2006

dawson_1.gifThis news is really creeping me out. Around noon today a mad shooter opened fire in Dawson’s College. They count one dead and many wounded, eight considered critical. From the information given by the media and witnesses the white male around his 19s started shooting in the schools cafeteria.

It’s been confirmed that the shooter was taken down by the police as he was in a kind of killing spree. Those shootings are not to common, especially here in Canada. I’m outraged that it did happen. I’m just glad that the situation was controlled by the authorities and thanks to their intervention many lives were saved today.

When ever I was looking to the videos and pictures depicting the event I came across this picture of students comforting each other. That single image struck me, the emotion and feel of the tragedy. Let’s pray that such a thing never happens again; if you’ve got issues take some time and visit a professional. Suicide and mass murder are not the only option you stupid peace of sh*t. Censoring myself is only a way for me to tell that this is really how I feel because usually I would simply rephrase to avoid any kind of cursing or crude language. When I was in High School I did consider going to Dawson College (wasn’t undecided for long), but life got me elsewhere.

Students in shock

Transformers teaser trailer

Transformers Movie

I pretty much never grew up with their toys, and only saw part of the original TV show, as mentionned in a previous post I was more of a Beast Wars fan that introduced me to the hole Transformers concept. Now the website has been up and running for some time, and just like in the upper picture their website show a menacing eye looking over Earth. There was a countdown on the website that was probably set to release the teaser next week but since it was leaked earlier today on YouTube and several websites they’re starting to release it early. However their official website seemed to be down for sometime and I had to get the trailer off The Movie Blog and a full quality one from Michael Bay’s blog who is the director of the Transformers movie. That movie will be huge, first impressions will come with a real trailer but it will be unleashed on the Fourth of July 2007.
